Black History Fact - Noble Drew Ali

Born Timothy Drew he was the founder of the Moorish Science Temple of America in 1913. The temple was founded on the belief that African American people are of Moorish ancestry from the Moroccan Empire. The labels “black”, “colored” and “Negro” were deemed derogatory. The beliefs urged Americans of all races to reject hate and embrace love.
